EDITORIAL REVIEWS
ROBERT LEUCI has joined the editorial staff of The Writers’ Circle. His expertise in fiction, television and film is available to authors seeking reviews of their work. Mr. Leuci will read up to 30 pages, prepare a typed review, and meet with the author to discuss writing goals, and marketing feasibility of the work under review. Robert Leuci first came to popular attention when his life as an undercover detective, for the NY police department, was portrayed in the book and film Prince of the City, starring Treat Williams. After retirement, he began writing and lecturing full time. He has written several novels, that have been translated and published in Croatia, Italy, Spain, Germany, and France. His television plays have been featured on the Arts & Entertainment network show, 100 Centre Street. Leuci is currently working with Rob Holcomb, television director and producer of ER, Wiseguy, and Lost. Together they are adapting Leuci’s novels into films for television. Presently, Mr. Leuci is an adjunct professor of English and Political Science at the University of Rhode Island. With his vast knowledge of organized crime and narcotics, he continues to lecture at universities, major police departments, and the FBI academy in Virginia. His memoir, All The Centurions, depicts the harsh reality of his life as a law enforcement officer.
DAVID HOWARD, a long-term staff member of The Writers' Circle, is also available to authors seeking reviews of their work. He will read up to 30 pages, prepare a typed review, and meet with the author to discuss writing goals, and marketing feasibility of the work. Mr. Howard started writing in the fifth grade, with the lead story for the Spring Glen School Chronicle. He spent over thirty years as a newspaper reporter and editor and now works as a freelance writer. He has published in Manuscript, Parnassus Literary Journal, Mobius, Manna and Animal Print. He won first place in the short story contest for Vebsap Literary Magazine and is at work on a novel about politics in Rhode Island. He has a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Vermont College and conducts fiction and creative nonfiction workshops for The Writers’ Circle.
PAT HEGNAUER is best known to Rhode Island audiences for her work as Artistic Director of 2nd Story Theatre, where she produced or directed over three hundred plays in theatre locations in Newport and Providence. Her vast experience in playwriting and theatre, makes her an excellent editor to work with. Writers who wish to consult with Ms. Hegnauer on scripts or any creative project for the theatre, may do so by contacting The Writers' Circle. Many of Pat's plays have been given full productions in theatres such as: The Boston Marathon, Perishable Theatre, Providence Firehouse Theatre, Newport Sage Theatre Company, Tribeca Theatre, NYC, Blithewold in Bristol, Tiverton Four Corners, Redwood Library in Newport, Culture Park's New Plays Marathon in New Bedford, MA., Raw Space Theatre in NYC, Lebanon Theatre Company in Lebanon, PA. She won the University of Rhode Island New Playwrights Award in 1996 and 1997. She has several times been named by the Providence Journal as "Best Director" of the year.
Writers interested in this service must send a cover letter with contact information, experience and goals. Also, include a 5 page synopsis with outline. Do not send your full creative work or payment at this time. Appropriate candidates will be referred to Mr. Leuci or Mr. Howard or Ms. Hegnauer. Fee: $375.00.
